Hi, my name is Fostina Mani, Global Trade  Engagement Director,  Betta Grains www.bettagrains.com, and Founder of a private marketplace Mothers of Africa Mobile Soko www.mothersofafricamobilesoko.com.

Am a recognized sector leader in Africa’s Agriculture.  A credible, reputable, and much sort after global trade engagement facilitator by many development partners, non-profit organizations, and foreign government’s commercial seeking to understand and trade in Africa’s mass markets especially the bottom of the pyramid.

As a Woman of the Christian Faith, am serving God by championing for an agricultural markets revolution that favours Africa, as my contribution to Agenda 2063 – The Africa We Want.  Am using my platform Legacy2063 to serve farmers, traders, women in agribusiness, and youthful  (young, mature, retired) to create the “Africa I Want”.

Am Serving

Global trade facilitation for farmers is my area of specialization because my focus is a market centered approach that uses bank guaranteed financing to ensure farmers are not defrauded.

African farmers lack information and knowledge on markets, prices, and trade flows, which is why I designed www.bettagrains.com as will as the trade analysis blog and newsletter.  I have served over 390 Farmer Organizations (4,105 Male, 5,645 Women).

Africa Agricultural Trade Market is riddled with conmen and fraudsters due to Africa’s corruption and lack of integrity. I have built a network of buyers and sellers who have been properly vetted.

Am currently doing business coaching for traders in global trade for faster trader facilitation for my various orders and requests. I have served 456 traders (192 male, and 264 female).

Women in Agribusiness

Am not just an Africa Woman Trader, am a Woman in Tech.  I design, develop and maintain my websites.  In honour of Africa cross border women traders  I created the “Mothers of Africa Mobile Soko”,  a  private marketplace designed to help women in agribusiness access markets and business opportunities from vetted sellers.   The concept was a top finalist at the World Bank Development Marketplace 2008. I have served 43 women owned SMEs.

Youthful Professionals

Youthful I mean young at heart and in spirit.  As much as we appreciate the role of youth in technology, there is maturity, wisdom, and experience the youth lack.  That is why I work not just with youth mature professional and especially the retired.

Africans in the diaspora are returning home not just as career choice but also those retiring have an opportunity to use their skills and resources to earn more money.

I have served 1,946 resellers, suppliers, buyers, and development staff within my network.

Regional Markets & Governments

My passion for representing Africa’s women cross border traders is the reason I successfully campaigned and was elected on Eastern African Grain Council first board, as the youngest and only women, Treasurer and Traders Representative.  I was nominated as the private sector representative at COMESA’s Agricultural implementation agency ACTESA’s Advisory Board.  I worked with the Government of Rwanda as the team leader in the business and marketing plan of Rwanda Grain and Cereal Corporation.  I have also served the Government of Kenya ministries of Agriculture on Kenya’s Warehouse Receipt Systems.

Development Partners

My knowledge on Africa mass market, especially the bottom of the Pyramid, trade analysis of Africa Cross Border Trade flows, and extensive research on dry grains and cereals have seen the following organizations reach out to me. International Trade Center as well as SheTrades on partnerships with buyers from Egypt, Ethiopia, India. Am a USAID trained Champion for Change in Africa’s Agriculture and have been sort by Chemonics Champion for Change, World Vision & SNV DryDev partnership, Kilimo Trust, Safaricom DigiFarm.  Am a USAID Champion for Change in Africa’s Food Security.  I also designed and developed the EAGC Grain Institute concept and proposal a leader in training on matters grain trade.

Customers Reviews

Fostina has been an amazing mentor in my journey. I have learnt a lot about the food processing industry and the Kenyan Market from her. Our phone conversations are so therapeutic and leave me reminded that I am doing a great job. She motivates me to do more and through her, I was able to envision that Mosoro Afya Flours can grow to be a significant player in the market and make huge impact to the society.
